The venue: Blue Town Heritage Centre
For Pot Luck #8 we invited audiences to travel onto the Isle of Sheppey where we’ll welcome you at the Blue Town Heritage Centre. This unusual building is on the site of a variety of earlier establishments. Originally the New Inn, in 1868 the site became The Royal Oxford Music Hall, and the following year was transformed into The Criterion Public House. As well as many period features, The Blue Town Heritage Centre has a wealth of memorabilia and artefacts relating to the history and heriage of Blue Town and Sheppey.
The mini-commission: Little Bulb Theatre
For Pot Luck #8 we asked acclaimed and award-winning Little Bulb Theatre to create a performance inspired by the Blue Town Heritage Centre and the Isle of Sheppey. (This is part of a new initiative. At each Pot Luck we commission an artist or company to create a new mini piece of performance that responds to the event’s location or venue.)
